Anne Rowling Clinic featured in MND patient care handbook

3 December 2013

ALS Worldwide have just published a handbook entitled “A paradigm shift in ALS/MNS clinic care: best practices from the patient perspective”:

This is a report written by Stephen and Barbara Byer, a US couple who founded ALS Worldwide ( They visited the Anne Rowling Clinic and Euan MacDonald Centre in June 2013, while they were undertaking an international review of ALS/MND clinics and hospitals to provide the patient community with an opportunity to see what “other” clinics are doing and to know what to request of their own practitioners.

Both the Anne Rowling Clinic and Euan MacDonald Centre are mentioned in a very favourable light, with particular mention (on page 43) going to the well thought out patient-care facilities, the voice-bank project, the Edinburgh Cognitive and Behavioural ALS Screen and the integration of neuroscience research with clinics.
