New roles for Denise and Pamela
23 January 2014
Two familiar faces at the Clinic have recently been promoted to new roles. Denise Cranley is now a Research Assistant and Pamela Macdonald is now Senior Secretary/Administrative Assistant. We would like to wish them all the best in their new positions.
I joined the multi-disciplinary research team at the Rowling Clinic last year, bringing with me a strong background knowledge of neurodegenerative research and clinical trials administration. My role is to provide assistance to senior researchers and clinicians with specific focus on recruitment of patients; upkeep of neurodegenerative research databases; data collection and cognitive assessment. I am also the first point of contact for the Euan MacDonald Centre for MND research, a very rewarding role which I have held for 5 years. I have a particular interest in clinical psychology and am very grateful to be part of the rich learning environment here at the Clinic.
Pamela acts as the first point of contact for the Clinic as well as providing PA support to the Clinic Manager, Shuna Colville. Alongside this she provides administrative and secretarial support for the Clinic as a whole. Before joining the Anne Rowling Clinic last summer as a medical secretary, Pamela worked for Lothian Health Board in the Pathology Department. She has also worked as a senior dispenser for a large retail chemist chain.
