A Window into the Brain
9 December 2015
In October we had the opportunity to show First Minister Nicola Sturgeon how we are using the eye as a "window into the brain".
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon visited the Anne Rowling Clinic in October 2015. She was very interested in the ground-breaking research being done by our resident eye doctor and Rowling Scholar James Cameron.
James is using state-of-the-art eye imaging equipment called optical coherence tomography (OCT) to study how our eyes can reveal new insights into brain diseases like multiple sclerosis and dementia, and how we can monitor the success or failure of new drug treatments for these conditions by looking into the eyes.
