This Summer, Fraser Brown, a third-year medical student at the University of Edinburgh, entered the essay competition tied to the Anne Rowling Clinic Launch Symposium. The judges were so impressed with his entry that he won the competition, and received a prize and certificate from Prof Sir John Gurdon.
Fraser's winning essay, "Regenerative Neurology: the future" has now been published in the Scottish Universities Medical Journal.
Fraser concludes "The ultimate aim is the application of these principles in medicine, and the alleviation of the suffering of many millions of patients. Neurologists currently manage many diseases with no cure; patient need is the driving force of this research and motivates the evolution of Regenerative Neurology into a clinical science."
